Shipping & Returns


We normally ship via the US Postal Service (USPS), First Class or Priority Mail. Our online catalog shipping table is based on weight, and while we have made every effort for it to reflect the shipping & handling rates listed in our printed catalog, there will be some differences, because our printed catalog rates are based on both weight and value.

For valuable items or orders, we may choose to use USPS Registered Mail, and in some cases, we have compensated for the higher value of an item by adjusting its weight. (Examples of this are bocals and shaper tips.) If the estimated shipping cost of your online order seems unreasonable, please phone in your order so that we can either confirm the shipping cost, adjust it, or help you choose an alternative. (An example of this would be heavy music, which could be sent via Media Mail.)

Local customers: for your convenience, we offer "In-Store Pickup" with no shipping & handling charges. You can call us to schedule a pickup time, or we will call you when your order is ready.

Shipping Time for Most Orders

Orders paid by credit card are normally shipped within 2 business days of receipt of your order. Exceptions are handmade reeds (which usually take 3-5 weeks), prepared Grimaud cane (which often has to be prepared to order and may take 1-3 weeks), and backorders (in which case, we will contact you).

HINT for ordering handmade reeds and prepared Grimaud Cane: Since delivery time on our handmade reeds is normally 3-5 weeks, please plan ahead. If you want to order other items that you would like us to ship right away, we suggest you place two orders--one for reeds and another for the items that you want shipped right away. This would also apply to our Grimaud prepared cane, which has a delivery time of approximately 1-3 weeks. Otherwise, we will wait and ship everything together when your whole order is complete.

Shipping of Instruments

You must call in order for us to ship any instrument to you on approval. We require a valid VISA or MasterCard number as a security deposit and to charge the shipping & handling to. To keep the shipping cost down, we normally ship instruments via USPS Registered Mail, Priority, which normally takes 2-3 days, but may take up to a week.If you want to receive an instrument shipment faster or need it to arrive on a certain day, we can also ship via FEDEX, but the cost to you will be higher.

Returning an unpurchased instrument

You may return unpurchased instruments by any carrier you choose as long as they are fully insured. Just let us know how and when to expect them.

Overnight Shipping

Overnight shipping is not offered through our online catalog, so if you want overnight shipping, please call us. Overnight orders are only possible if we have the item(s) in stock and if we receive your order early enough to process it by the USPS Express Mail deadline of 3:00 pm or the FEDEX call-for-pickup deadline of 4:00 pm. Shipping & handling charges for overnight shipping will be decided on a case-by-case basis and will depend on weight, value, distance, and carrier used. Please note that Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time throughout the year.


Before returning any item, you must call and get a return authorization number. Put the authorization number inside and on the outside of the return package.

In addition, the following policies apply:


Except for instruments and reeds, any unused item in original condition and packaging (if applicable) may be returned for a full refund within 30 days after date of invoice. After 30 days, a restocking fee may apply.

Defective products (except for reeds), if returned within 30 days after date of invoice, will be repaired, replaced or money refunded at the discretion of WEBER REEDS.


You may try any new or used instrument on approval for up to 7 days (from day of arrival), at the end of which time you must either return it to WEBER REEDS or purchase it. Once you decide to purchase an instrument, it is not returnable.

If an instrument has been ordered and paid for via our online store, it may be returned within 7 days from date of arrival for a full refund if returned in its original condition and packaging. Please remember to call for authorization.


  • Beginner Reeds:
  • Beginner reeds carry no warranty and cannot be returned for any reason unless damaged in shipment. Any replacement claim for shipment damage must be made within 30 days after date of invoice.

  • Hand Made Reeds:
  • Unless damaged in shipment, hand made reeds are only guaranteed against leaking and cracking due to defective cane, and not due to normal use or to any misuse. You must call for approval within 30 days after date of invoice before returning any reed for our inspection. If we determine that the reed has failed due to defective material or manufacture, we will replace it or refund your money. Any replacement claim for shipment damage must be made within 30 days after date of invoice.

Please note:

-Hand made reeds from WEBER REEDS are intended to have the blades "offset" or "overlapped"; this is not a defect.

- Reeds may leak when dry; this is irrelevant. Please soak and play each reed to determine if the reed leaks under normal playing conditions.

- You may see a small hairline crack in the bark above the thread on some reeds; this is only cosmetic and should not affect their performance.
