Norton sells this oil for sharpening stones, but we don’t recommend using oil on any stone except when cleaning it, because you will get a much better edge on your reed knife without it. Use lighter fluid to remove the oil after cleaning your stone.

This ultra-fine machine-quality oil is useful on your gouging machine or any other quality tool, but we do not recommended it for oiling the instrument mechanism (check out our Precision Micro Oiler for that).
